Today, I thought about writing my 2025 predictions, but honestly, I don’t think repeating “outbound isn't dead” adds much value. So instead, let’s dive into something actionable, how to use Perplexity AI for outbound, and account research.
When ChatGPT first came out, I used it for everything. But now, there are way better tools for specific tasks. Perplexity is perfect for mid-market or enterprise accounts with lots of data online, especially if you want to save hours on research.

Why I Use Perplexity AI Instead of Google or ChatGPT
1: Real-Time Web Search
Up-to-Date Insights: Perplexity AI pulls real-time data, so I always have the latest info.
Saves Time: No more digging through endless Google results, Perplexity finds what matters fast.
2. Multi-Source Analysis
Deeper Insights: It pulls and summarizes info from multiple websites, giving me a complete view instead of scattered details.
Actionable: The summaries are easy to understand and use right away.
3. AI That Finds What’s Relevant, Fast
Perplexity AI narrows down what matters, so I spend less time searching and more time doing.
What I Don’t Use Perplexity AI For
Writing my emails or LinkedIn messages. I like to review the research first and decide what’s most relevant before writing.
Small SMBs or hard-to-find companies. If the company isn’t online or has limited info, Perplexity isn’t the best tool.
It’s a great tool for companies with lots of online data, but it’s not perfect for everything.
How I use Perplexity AI (Example: Eventbrite -public company)
Here’s how I use Perplexity AI to research public companies like Eventbrite, build a solid Point of View, and write relevant outbound messages.
In this case, I’m using Castordoc (a data catalog I worked for) as the example.
Step 1: Build an Account Plan
Prompt:
Build an account plan about the company Eventbrite
# of Employees and # of people on the data team
How does the company make money?
Who is on the leadership team?
Who are their competitors?
What tech stack does the data team use? (data warehouse, BI tool, etc)
What are the current market trends impacting the company, and how do these trends affect their business and the data team?
Key Findings:
Step 2: Leverage Earnings Calls
What takeaways from Eventbrite’s earnings calls relate to challenges my product, CastorDoc, solves?
Prompt:
What are the key takeaways from Eventbrite’s latest earnings call that are relevant to the challenges my product, CastorDoc (Data Catalog), can solve? Please explain why these takeaways are relevant.
Key Findings:
Step 3: Dive into 10-K and 10-Q Reports
What challenges or opportunities mentioned in Eventbrite’s filings could CastorDoc address?
Prompt:
What are the key takeaways from Eventbrite’s recent 10-K and 10-Q filings that are relevant to the challenges my product, CastorDoc (Data Catalog), can solve? Please explain why these takeaways are relevant.
Key Findings:
Step 4: Research Leadership Initiatives
What recent challenges or initiatives have Eventbrite’s tech/data leaders (e.g., Archana Ganapathi) discussed?
Prompt: For tech/data execs
Can you provide all the most recent resources (interviews, articles, videos, or other content) from EventBrite tech and data leaders like Archana Ganapathi, where they mention recent initiatives or challenges is Evenbrite facing that my data catalog (Castordoc): Data Catalog & Business Glossary and Data Lineage can address. Please explain why the information is relevant.
Key Findings:
Bonus prompt for the CEO:
Can you provide all the most recent resources (interviews, articles, videos, or other content) from EventBrite CEO, where they mention recent initiatives or challenges is Evenbrite facing that my data catalog (Castordoc): Data Catalog & Business Glossary and Data Lineage. Please explain why the information is relevant.
Step 5: Apply Insights for Outreach
With these insights, craft relevant messages for each account, highlighting how your product addresses their pain points.
4 pro tips for using Perplexity AI
Maximize the Free Version: Up to 5 searches every 4 hours—perfect for single-account research.
Combine with LinkedIn: For extra context on team sizes and data roles.
Verify with Sources: Use links provided by Perplexity to deepen your understanding.
I’ve tried using Perplexity + Clay for scaling account research, but the results weren’t great. Honestly, if you want to scale with smaller accounts or ones with little info online, Clay is better. For larger accounts with lots of public data, stick to Perplexity directly, it’s much more effective.
Takeaway
Tools like Perplexity AI can elevate your outbound game by saving time, improving accuracy, and making your outbound messaging more relevant for each account.
